The FLE tables meet and exceed all the strict specifications laid down by the BCA, Billiard Congress of America. This table has been on display at the BCA trade shows now for over a decade where I have been performing shows and letting customers play me on it. We have also displayed at the Allen Hopkins Expo in Philadelphia. I make sure it is manufactured to my tough tournament specifications.
Our table features solid Maple cured hardwood construction. The legs and sides are solid wood and there is no particle board that you see on cheap tables.
Hand carved solid hardwood Maple legs. Others sell you legs that are hollow and the table rocks and moves with you lean on it to shoot. Heavy solid legs are very important to support the corner systems and ours are made from several laminations of stacked hardwood to create one solid piece for maximum strength and stability.
2" x 6" cross frame member supports. Solid as a rock. The uniform support system was engineered by me with strength and durability in mind so this table will perform for decades into the future.
RAILS: Mother-of-pearl inlaid rail diamond sights. No cheap brads. The rails are flawless and beautifully finished. Our solid wood maple wide pro profile. I want a flat rail like we had back he solid maple "wide profile" rails are built for durability as well as beauty. For an exact fit, aprons are attached at our factory. The floating nut plate secures the rail and apron to the slate bed with unyielding torque strength, allowing for exact alignment. Solid maple sub-rails are reverse grained and laminated to add weight and density in order to deliver optimal ball response. The cloth relief allows the rail to lay flush to the slate for a greater symmetry and strength. All of our pool tables feature wood featherstripping - no cheap plastic here.
3-piece 1" thick slate which all the high end tables feature. A Cheap table gives you ¾” slate which is bad and allows the ball to hop around when you shoot. Those cheap slate can be impossible to ever level right. Our slates are perfect and I have never had a complaint from an installer on one yet. Our rails are bolted through the slate with nuts underneath to keep the rails tight and banking properly. Our slate is always diamond honed to absoute perfection. It exceeds the BCA's standards. The slate support frame is pre-mounted to the slate and is made from ¾” thick lumber. The support frame not only adds strength but also allows the cloth to be attached with staples instead of the inferior spray glue method the cheap tables have to use who do not offer slate backing. This is a vital question to ask because they can never pull a cloth tight or keep it that way. It will loosen badly and then the table will really play slow and awful. Never buy such a table at any price. The number one problem with shipping in any table is having the slate damaged or chipped because it is so heavy and easy to drop. Having it backed by a wood frame helps to prevent that and offers a barrier of protection.
